About the CRC

The Capital Region Collaborative is a cooperative effort among partners from the Richmond Region’s local government, business and community organizations to conduct a public process that will identify, prioritize and implement actions to enhance the quality of life in the Richmond Region. The Collaborative was created as a partnership between the Richmond Regional Planning District Commission and the Greater Richmond Chamber. The RRPDC is comprised of the local governing bodies of the Region’s nine jurisdictions, while the GRC represents the Region’s business community.

This partnership between public and private stakeholders seeks to coordinate existing resources, programs, and community-building efforts to produce significant results that improve our Region. The effort is not another visioning process, but rather a sustained ongoing collaboration between government and business. The framework of the Collaborative is intended to unify the individual, volunteer, group, business and local government investments in our community to produce actual positive results.

The nine jurisdictions of the Richmond Region include the City of Richmond, the Town of Ashland, and the Counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Powhatan, and New Kent.

We invite you to participate in this cooperative effort to make our shared home a greater place to live, work, and play. Those interested in becoming involved can begin by reviewing and commenting on the Strawman Draft of Regional Priorities, which reflects the sentiment of 10 focus groups from the Region.
